I drive an '07 WRX & am tired of taking it to the dealer. Does anyone have suggestions of a mechanic I can trust in the Syracuse area? I know I need some brake rotor work, might want to do some upgrading some time soon too?

I think it's time to learn some DIY repairs. Brakes are not hard at all. Money you save on labor can go towards upgrading. There are people close by who I'm sure would be willing to help you learn.

Sure, I could probably handle a few things on my own, but having an experienced set of eyes looking over my shoulder would give me confidence that I was not about to do irreversible damage. Would love to upgrade the brake system, exhaust, and possibly more?
I am mechanically inclined, (bicycle repair mechanic for over 10 years). Do you know anyone willing to be an extra set of eyes for a case of beer?!
Thanks for the comment 305mouse.
