Hey Guys I was wondering if you could recommend a tire(s) that would be sufficient for summer driving and rain. I have a set of dedicated winter tires so Im not looking at all seasons, but im interested in something that is going to last for a while not burn up super quick. I am not really an Autocrosser and I don't do solo's Just everyday mostly highway driving. I don't want to spend more than $500 preferably less.

Thanks in advance! :o

Kumho SPT. Not a great autox tire, but decent enough on the street and high enough treadwear that they won't die after one season. They also have a pretty good tread design for the wet too.

Do NOT get Kumho XS. Out of your price range by a $100 or so, but in case you see a used set, they suck in the rain.

I had basically the same requirements when I needed to get my wife tires last week. I ended up getting her the Kuhmo SPT's FWIW.

However if I were to do it again, I would've gotten one of the sets of ever-so-slightly-used tires for sale. There's two sets I've seen go up for sale recently (one on here, I forget where the other one was). Both were a little more aggressive than what you're looking for, they would work great, just wear out a bit quicker. Given the 'used' discount though, it's probably a better $/mile though.

Hankook Ventus V12 if the star specs are outta the price range. Supposed to be great in the rain and good enough to have some fun. Plus they have a decent treadwear.

Found a sweet score on CL :band: I got 4 BN Goodyear Eagle F1 205/55/16 tires from a guy in Auburn for $350!

Pricing those out on tirerack.com I came up with $604 before shipping so I think I did pretty decent.

Those are great DD tires. I had a set. They were fantastic in the rain and seemed to last forever. I even did a handful of autox on them.

+1 for the hankook ventus v12. I'm on my second summer with them, I use them as my daily driver summer tire and autox tire. Really happy with the performance, tread life and definitely cost. I'd definitely get them again.

I know this is all but dead but I want to leave some feedback also for future researchers.... I put a set of Goodyear Eagle F1's in the stock size 235/45/17 on my A4 and I LOVED them. I have some BEEFY swaybars on there and drove them Hard so they didn’t last that long but there were great in the dry and MEGA AWESOME in the wet. I did 100 once in a down pour just to see how fast I could go until I feel uncomfortable with the traction, I got more worried about jail time before i did about traction.

I liked them so much that when i herd they were going to stop making them I bought two more sets one used and another brand new and the last set was at 0 tread when I sold the car worked perfect!

Not that it really matters but they look bada$$ also!
